How It Works

  • AVEALTO Wireless Infrastructure Platform (“WIP”) airship is designed to provide low cost and high quality capacity to remote regions of the world.

  • Each WIP Vehicle can support multiple 4G and 5G cell sites, WISP sites, VSAT sites and Maritime services within a 240 km (150 mi) diameter area.

  • Each WIP vehicle operates at an altitude of 18 to 20 kilometers (60,000 to 72,000 feet) and remains in a stationary position in relation to the earth.

  • WIP vehicles use sustainable solar power and the ground terminals use much less power than when connecting to satellites.

Technology Development - 2015 to 2018

- 8-meter vehicle test flight in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA.

- 11-meter vehicle test flight in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA.

- Rapid Autofill System Developed.​

- FAA issues airworthiness certificate to 28-meter Avealto test vehicle.​

- 1st test flight of 28-meter vehicle completed.

Product Development - 2019 to 2021

- Development of outer envelope & inner cell.

- Material strength and permeability testing.

- 16-meter subscale vehicle testing.

- Calibration of autopilot and control systems.

- Initial vehicle design & R&D completed for commercial WIP vehicle.

 

Commercialisation - 2022

- Initial R&D completed. All technical barriers resolved.
2023

Vehicle test - 2023

- Final subscale vehicle test flight (prior to full scale vehicle fabrication) with a newly built 17-meter (56 foot) vehicle to be conducted under the supervision of the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

  • Provides communication services to maritime industry (Maritime VSAT) to cruise ships, fishing vessels, tankers, freighters, and ferries

  • Also referred to as internet-by-satellite, is a high-speed bi-directional Internet connection made via GEO communications satellites instead of a telephone landline or other terrestrial means
